About Us
Who are we?
We are HOPEtech! Our name is an acronym for our names: Heewon, Oumou, Paula, and Elizabeth. We are participants of Girls Who Code which is a 7-week computer science course where we learn the fundamentals of computer science – from robotics to how to build a webpage – while gaining exposure to the tech industry.
Goal
As our final project, we wanted to address loneliness among people of an older generation, we realized that older people are especially vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation and it can have a serious effect on their health. But through the this website, senior citizens will be able to learn to navigate social media and video call interfaces.

Heewon Kim will be a senior at Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, California. Growing up in a small, suburban community, she developed various interests from her limited scope of experience, such as filmmaking, writing, and eating. Through Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program, Heewon discovered a new medium to realize her creativity, and she is very excited to combine her love for creative endeavor for meaningful causes with computer science. -

Oumou Camara is from Guinea(conacry), She is part of the class of 2017 at Agua Fira High school.She enjoys reading, writing and helping others. Also, she has a great interest in technology and making a difference. -

Paula Sante is a 17 years old and a rising senior at Edward Roybal Learning Center. Also, she is a GearUp LA mentor.Paula is part of the Varsity Girl’s Tennis Team and the Varsity Track and Field Team. Paula is interested with Exploring Computer Science because she want to pursue her dream of being a Computer Engineer someday. -

Elizabeth paz is a rising senior who attends Grover Cleveland Charter High School. She is interested in mathematical concepts, technology, and helping her community. Elizabeth is part of two leadership councils and is an active member of her church. But above everything else, she hopes to leave her mark on the world by making it a better place.
